Hi,
I've been following the forum (and the Pogues...) for years but this is my first post.

It seems that Shane is also appearing with Sharon Shannon next Sunday (28th) in Dungarvan, Co. Waterord at the Waterford Hurlers Concert.
I'm typing from a public library and can't copy paste the link now, but there are tickets available from ticketmaster.ie.

Just for the record and for the sake of completeness as well as for those who doubt credibility of the project or make plans and would like to know what to expect:
Shane did this one too. He performed The Irish Rover, Rainy Night in Soho, Fiesta and Fairytale of New York (with Joyce Redmond) and joined the rest on Courting in the Kitchen and Galway Girl ...

Shane and Joyce Redmond.

Has anyone got a complete list, please, of the shows Shane's played with Sharon? I keep hearing they've been playing little rural pubs... And has anyone seen Shane and Sharon live..?

Had to laugh at the article in the most recent issue of Uncut and Sharon Shannon's assertion that the gigs are all pints and no drugs. She's one of the biggest cokeheads going!

I'd wish it was just one. But let's face the cruel fact: dickheads are all around...

And the last but gentle reminder (specially for newbies):

Sharon Shannon and her 24 strong Big Band – featuring Shane McGowan, Mundy, Dessie O’Halloran, Richie Buckley and other top names in Irish music from across the spectrum – play a special post-Christmas tour with dates all around the country.

This fantastic show will make you forget the doom and gloom and give you the best night’s entertainment and value for money you can get during Christmas and lift your spirits through January..

It’s just over a year since Sharon and her band first teamed up with Shane McGowan for what she described as ‘punked up versions of Irish songs’ and, she says, their shows are getting better all the time.

“We’re all more used to playing with Shane and Mundy and to playing with each other so it will be like last year, but a lot better!”

While everything is rehearsed totally, there is always room for spontaneity and the atmosphere on stage is very much a party one. Those who saw their Christmas show in Galway last year will know that’s true, as they almost lifted the roof off Leisureland with countless tunes, and songs such as "Fairytale of New York", "Galway Girl" (Steve Earle’s song which he recorded with Sharon and she subsequently recorded with Mundy), "Courtin’ in the Kitchen" and "Say You Love Me"..

Will do my utmost to make it to the gig in wexford on new years night. Can anyone shed any light on the age group for these gigs? I'm considering bringing along my son (he is 4 years old). Cheers!

If there's drink being served on the premises, children are not normally allowed after 9pm. I'd check with the venue.

I've been at two of these gigs and I'd reckon the age group is anything from 18 to 80. A bit like your average Pogues show.

we had a great night in Donegal Town.

Sharon Shannon alone was worth the entrance fee.

Dublin rambler.

I tried replying to your PM but am having no luck.

Zuzana and Philip Chevron, I sent you both PMs and just learnt they weren't sent.
