Alright, haha, fair enough derelict! DzM's post made me realize (once again) I should take everything with a grain of salt. The history of the Kennedy and the Fitzgerald familes -although incredibly interesting and astounding- is really corrupt and wrong. HOWEVER! I will stick to my guns and say that Kennedys really did do a lot for our country (especially the State of Massachusetts). I conisder this an argument similar to that of George Washington and his role in militarily shaping the United States and to that of his owning slaves and smoking herb while in office - that is, we will get nowhere. Either side has a point. I will end quickly and severly: DzM, thank you for moderating, and derelict, if you ever come to Boston, I will buy you a drink and we can discuss our differences until the dawn comes. Cheers.

I really have no differences with you....really
But, I really can't comment on "The Scream," either. Chuckled warmly though.
Now, if you'd like to have a brew and discuss Dali, I'd love it.

Just a side note: derelict, you are older than me - damn that Jim Beam! Haha, so I take that back 100% Onward with the "Is Shane Still Great?" argument!!!!!

George Washington smoked herb while in office?!

I'm older than both of you, but somehow missed this in the books.

See? You guys rock.

Right now I'm drinking gin and sake from the same bottle. I'm hoping to work up a good head of steam. Will let you know how it works out.

Territa - You likely missed that little detail about Prs. Washington 'cause you would have learned it in High School and were likely high at the time. :)

Sorry to disappoint, but I was the straight one in high school... you do, however, have the correct timeframe.

Any details on Washington smoking herb? Sources?

I mean, he grew hemp, but hemp isn't exactly marijuana.

There really arent many. Years ago I spent a good amount of time researching to little avail. Its more of a rumor (kinda like the cherry tree thing which is not true). There was a painting from the early twentieth century that reminded people that Washington had indeed been involved with the drug. His plantation did have a space reserved for the plant, and it rumored that he spent some Mount Vernon summers with a pipe in one hand and Cornwallis' sword in the other.
