I saw two threads opened recently about this amd found this on myspace
It's an interview with Shanne Bradley

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... =353737516

LQM: You mentioned the other day that you might be doing some live stuff with Shane sometime in the near future? That sounds very exciting. Can you tell us anymore about that?

SB: Synchronicty strikes again! The Nipple Erectors are reforming and will be playing some gigs this year. Shane was here on monday night now back in Dublin and now Fritz the guitarist is down here from newcastle for a few days and we are going through all the songs... it was just like riding a bike... played them all no problem.

Looks interesting!

At first, I was kind of excited by this prospect, but the more I think about it, the more it just sounds like a bad idea. The Nips were a good band for their time and place, and though they did receive some small amount of recognition back then, larger numbers of people only began to care about them in the wake of the Pogues' popularity. For one such as me who only knows of this band through their recordings and their memory, they exist as a kind of simpler and somewhat romantically youthful precursor to the Pogues. (I mean, you can't think of the Nips without thinking of the Pogues.) I think for them to play again would just tarnish their memory and place in the annals of punk history.

Perhaps. But I'd give anything to see them anyway. 8)

According to this interview with Shanne Bradey from February on Lobster Quadrille's website it sounds like a Nips reunion is being planned.

NB I have never before heard of Lobster Quadrille, I just came across this interview while searching for something else so I have no idea how reliable they are a a source.

The myspacepages for both the Nipple Erectors and the Cute Lepers say that the Nipple Erectors will be playing at the 100 Club next Tuesday (6th May). Anyone got any idea if this is genuine? If so is Shane likely to be involved?

Johnny Moped is also listed on the bill.

Just ordered my tickets from wegottickets.com, only £6 which sounds like a bit of a bargain, even if Shane is not involved Johnny Moped is worth the admission fee alone.

Firstly apologies to the mods for cross posting but I thought that this would be of interest to London based Pogues fans, hence I have posted it here where it may get more views.

I keep hearing that this is likely to happen, but please don't blame me if it doesn't. Anyway, A Johnny Moped show is, in itself, a big event.

Last time I saw Johnny Moped was a hometown show in Croydon (both JM's home town and mine) about fifteen years ago, they put on a good show then. I also heard good reports from their recent gig in Brighton so will be looking forward to the gig either with or without you know who.

Jesus, Shane cant have sung most of those tracks for 25 years or so; lets hope someone has been busy with the printer and laminator ;-)

Great news tho.

I know it is short notice but I have a spare ticket (one only but it is going free of charge) for the 100 Club gig tonight, line up includes the Cute Lepers, Johnny Moped and according to rumours a special guest appearance from The Nipple Erectors/The Nips (featuring Shane MacGowan).

If anyone wants the spare drop me a PM, can meet near the Venue (Oxford Street), will need to know by 7.
