Who would you like to see Shane work with in the future?

It reckon it would be fantastic to see Shane record something with John Lydon/Rotten. A silly, poppy song performed in Lydon's whine and Shane's growl would be absolutely hilarious...

John Lydon the MP??? I just don't see it happen.... The least realistic scenario ever....

Bono is more likely to sing with him, plus there's been some talk of it already as far as I can remember.

At least I heard he had an intention of becoming one.

What a clown really....

The only way to change the system is from the inside. Breaking windows in the name of anarchy will get you nowhere.

I'd vote for him.

That said, John Lydon is now a much-loved British institution. Probably won't be long before he gets knighted...

In 1977, who'd have thought that Johnny Rotten would end up being seen as a loveable eccentric, at one with nature and beloved by little old ladies (my nan thinks he's fantastic), held in high regards for his honest opinions?

Who'd ever think that saying "Fuck the queen" gets you an MBE ;-)

Perhaps the Queen has a sense of humour... :)

Then again (and he's clarified this several times), he never really said he hated the Queen - he was pointing out what was wrong with the monarchy as it was and is...

This current queen definitely has one great sense of humour and an ear for music :-) is there a list of all the MBEs for the last like 40 years, starting wiht the Beatles and so on? ;-) Looks like half of them would be musicians :-)

Would be interesting to compare this list to the list of all the previous MBEs in the history and write some research work about it, something like the dynamics of the royal preferences or something of the sort :-)

I think that the Queen has her minions go out and compile a list of popular and influential figures amongst the general public and bases many of her decisions on that. The serving government has an influence on this process too...

On occasion, I daresay that MBEs/OBEs/etc. have been given out to people whom the Queen has no real knowledge of, but has been assured by her advisers that it will make her look 'hip' and 'in touch' to do so...

Yeah, the Queen herself has little to do with these awards (apart from giving them out). Mostly recommended by the government.

LOL I can only imagine that - the queen talking to her advisors who are saying, come on yer majesty, that'll make ya look hip

What I'd really like is to see Shane recording with Spider Stacy, Jem Finer, James Fearnley, Andrew Ranken, Phil Chevron, Terry Woods, Darryl Hunt, Cait O'Riordan... oh...
