I didn't hear this myself because i was in work, but a friend said that Ray D'arcy on Today FM (ireland) announced a live collaboration of The Pogues and Sharon Sharon. He may have some inside info as he broadcast his show from her kitchen on Tuesday 11th.
Anyone know more? Mr Chevron?

Don't know if it is the Pogues. But it does look like Shane, Sharron, Dessie O'Halloran (not sure of spelling

) are doing some shows together.
I am told by a very good source (my Big Sister) that they will be playing in Portlaoise on New Years Eve at the heritage Hotel. Tickets are supposed to go on sale next friday (21st).

I've seen Sharon Shannon live, on two separate occasions - both magnificent performances. Dunno whether there is anything to these rumours but she's well worth seeing in her own right, regardless.

I have it on good authority that Mundy and Damien Dempsey are most likely to make appearences as well.
Shane will do 5/6 songs.

Last time I saw Sharon Shannon, Steve Earle was on the bill as well. Sharon got Mundy onstage to sing "Galway Girl". They got not much more than a couple of bars into the song when Mr Earle suddenly rushed on from the wings, more or less pushed Mundy out of the way and sang it himself.

Yup, if I remember rightly she was supporting R.E.M. along with Oasis. It was the first concert I was ever at. And a good one too.
