'Naomi Bedford's latest album 'Tales from the Weeping Willow' was engineered and also co-produced by Gerry Diver who was in the Popes and has worked with Shane McGowan. Is now available via mail order from her website. Paul Simmonds [TMTCH]wrote two songs and played on it (also Ricky McGuire and Tom Spencer). It also featured a song by Paul Heaton and another one by Justin Currie where Naomi duets with them.

Mistley: Arts on Walls success
12:29pm Monday 6th June 2011
AN outdoor art exhibition held along a village’s historic landmark has been hailed a “success” by the organisers.

Thousands turned out for Art on the Walls in Mistley on Sunday.
The event, which included demonstrations, workshops, street entertainment and exhibitions, was held against the backdrop of the River Stour.
Around 35 artists showcased their work in different mediums with potters and painters, ceramicists, textile artists and photographers submitting their favourite pieces to display on the historic wall.
Dan Heatley, drummer from The Pogues, was on hand to run a children’s workshop in percussion and live performance.
Cindy Rowland, organiser, said: “It was a great success and really well attended.
“We’re already thinking about next year and have had some fantastic positive feedback."..............end quote Daily Gazette.

The Popes will release their brand new studio album “New Church” on 5 March 2012. From punked-up opener “Storming Heaven” to the rousing Celtic tones of “How Many Bullets”, to the feelgood anthem that is “Alice” and the Bond theme-esque vibe of the brooding “In A Broken Dream”, “New Church” is arguably the band’s strongest album to date. It also features a stunning guest slot from Howard Marks on “Throw Down Your Aces”.
