I just rang them and they said a FEW tickets might be available on door on the night (and not before) if you get there early enough. MIGHT No guarantees.

I'm sure Andy Nolan played accordian with The Popes briefly, somewhere in between Keiran Kiely and Mick O'Connell. He was also in The Vendettas with Spider.

No sign of Mad DOg . It was all the others !

Bob Dowling on Bass , Andy Ireland on drums, Lady fiddle player (could be Miriam Kavana ?) ,Accordian (big fella i dont know might be ANdy Nolan or MIck O cOnnell . I have seen him with them before but dont know his name., ) Brian Kelly on banjo. Cant remeber if they had a whistle or not.
They have a new singer woh i am told is BOb Dowlings brother. He did the job well. THey played really well. Still sounding good.

Biblecode SUndays were good, their accordian player looks like a younger version of the one in The Popes. THey were all younger looking than i expected.

I really liked the band who were on before Biblecode Sundays. THre was only 3 of them , guitar/vocalist , banjo and fiddle , but they kicked up a great sound ! Not sure what they were called , I should have found out cos i would go and see them again. Top music.Top musicians.
They might have been the Otherbrothers . On the other hand it could have been DingleSPike or Beyond the Pale. I was pretty drunk by then and wasnt really noticing what they were called.I know it wasnt Macnamars or Northern Celts cos they wer on first, ANd i think Flynt had the big stand up bass and they were having trouble with the mic on it , it kept fallijng off. Didnt really matter cos i could still hear it anyway.Im rambling a bit now so hopefully someone can let us know who that 3man band was .

Cheers Roddy for letting us know about that gig. Keep your ear to the ground like you do, and keep on letting us know of the good stufff, yoou know what i mean.

Good to hear somebody made it to the gig.Sounds like it was a good one.

I have been trying to find out who that 3 man band playing at th memorial were. I thought it might have been Dingle Spike. I was researching them and came across this.

Mick O'Connell played with the Popes. Andy Nolan played with Biblecode Sundays. They were the band on before the Popes. The Popes were brilliant. Bobs brother was brilliant Lets hope this will start a new era for the new Popes!

Harsh, I got there pretty late (just before the last 3 bands) and got 2 tickets.

BTW duncan disorderly the band you're talking about was Dingle Spike. The lady on the fiddle was Aílís something and I can't remember the others but I was talking to the singer's daughter at the bar.
