at Paddy Rolling Stone:

A Man You Don't Meet Every Day - Shane MacGowan, Christmas 2006
With another successful reunion tour wrapped up, lead singer Shane MacGowan, took his traditional pilgrimage to North-West Tipperary to spend Christmas with this family and close friends. It is remarkable to see this oftentimes-doomed singer back selling out the top venues with his original band The Pogues. The rocker has been reunited with The Pogues for the past few years, touring with a live show of their greatest hits, and by all accounts, this reunion is working well. Here, MacGowan speaks about being back with the band and his ambition for the coming year...

Interesting read, might be a bit better to take the odd "Yeah?" out to make it easier tho!

Nah! No spoiling of Shane-style. :) Or we would get another flavourless, characterless, Shane-less Yule blog.

Hmmmm....im not convinced on the number of Yeah's but there you go!!

So thats Spider and Shane in the past 2 months mentioning new stuff....the odds have been cut from 50/1 outsider to 10/1 in with a chance...

I suspect the "new Pogues stuff" might well be the long expected rarities box set, but it's great news in any case!

I like the idea of the Pogues playing Belfast, it'd be great to see them in my family's home town!

What a quote

"The 50th will be a good excuse for a bit of a party next year"

Can it get any better?

Cheers

I don't know, the way the interview has been put together, I don't think it looks like Shane talking, save for the billions of "yeah".

Took a quick look at PRS, and it appears that our old friend Celtic Dave is bitter that the interview has been posted on pogues.com.
Was this an exclusive/copyrighted/trademarked interview? Don't think so.
Get over it Davey

Not to be pedantic, but ... the interview hasn't been posted/copied to pogues.com. A summary and link has been provided pointing to the shanemacgowan.com site and article.

Their "exclusive" has been respected. If they want a private interview just for the registered users of PRS then they should bury it (the interview) behind password access, etc. Otherwise they should appreciate the extra exposure in the same spirit that I do when they link back to this site.

MacRua links the interview but, unlike his links to other articles, he doesn't credit it to shanemacgowan.com

"If they want a private interview just for the registered users of PRS then they should bury it (the interview) behind password access, etc.

I presume when you say "they" you are referring to Ingrid, a long time and loyal friend of Shane.

Your use of inverted commas each side of the word exclusive infers that that, in your opinion, the interview is not particularly "exclusive" at all. Why prey tell??

Why stick your oar in at all? Get over it. You didn't get the interview.

You have a great site here. Why try and belittle another. Particularly the one that led the way in relation to Shane and the Pogues.
