No, not Shane! That doesn't fit in with what I know about him at all.

Both The Pogues (Bergen '85) and Shane and The Popes (London '94) have done pretty good live versions of The Boys of Kilmichael. Rumour has it that Shane recorded it for the Snake but ZTT made him leave it off.

On one of the last Brixton shows, Shane also kicked into 18th Day of Nov, when Mr Ranken took a time out, I think James also said a few things about that on his journal.

I was there that night, when your man was in the toilet, or something. I didn't know the song and asked my Dad if Rocky Road To Dublin had used those lyrics before the version I know, like Rising of The Moon to Wearing Of The Green :(
The rest of the musicians were a little slower to catch on, but it was a cool diversion whilst we were waiting for Body of An American.

the lads can refer to anything. example "im going drinkin with the lads tonight" Derry mucker, I knew what you meant butyou need to be careful, not everyone on this site has sympathetic views on the IRA
