Man, Be Here Now sucked. I like Oasis, but that one was worse than Heathen Chemistry.

be here now was just too epic for a bunch of guys who cant really play

they tried to be all new and hippyish...
but then that new album
i dont even fucking know what the hell happened there
tried to sound emo or scene or something like that

'songbird' off of heathen chemistry was actually really lovely, a good simple love song
i think that's what's best about it, that it's not cluttered by the suffocating production the rest of the album suffers from
and 'd'you know what i mean?' is actually, i think, a killer single... and the be here now album is not exactly a stinker, just not great... people were just ready to knock them down... it could have been worse, they could have released 'standing on the shoulders of giants' first...
people also forget about 'the masterplan' b-sides collection. that album is almost better than the first two, fantastic running order, and just a great bunch of songs. makes you wonder how they could pull it off so easily for "throwaway" b-sides, and then stumble on album tracks proper
p.s. 'd'you know what i mean' has a great film clip too

oasis are OK but nothing more. theres millions of people who write songs like song bird. oasis had the look and swagger of a cool band thats why they became famous not because of talent.

i saw them here in melbourne, australia last year, and they were shit house. but then, the last few times haven't been great either. noel, as has been stated numerous times over the last how-ever-many years just doesn't give a fuck live. which is ok. he's got his money now.
i'm not sure exactly why i still bother... hanging on to the last remnants of my youth.
but i still stand by 'acquiesce', 'live forever' and 'the masterplan'... obviously not reinventing the wheel, but then that's what everybody always knocks them for... however, i don't ever recall noel fronting the press with his blueprints for the new wheel...
they're just good old fashioned rock and roll
