i was just wondreing whether the book (the title is my subject) is any good/ worth buying, as i know where i can get it from, if its worth getting!

Yeah, OK. It's likely most of this is meant with a certain melodramatic humor and/or irony, but that doesn't change the fact that it's <i>terrible</i>.

In my humble opinion of course.

As for me the book is worth every penny I spent on it. I've never regretted I bothered to get it, not for a single moment...

It's not about Victoria, her prose and rugged cottages at the end of the day..

The writing style of that would probably have me throwing the book out of the window in the middle of a fit. I already feel like having a shower to get the clingy flowery descriptions away after having read that.

Don't be discouraged with the very beginning of Drink – Victoria's pompous writing might be a bitter pill to swallow, but it's definitely worth clenching your teeth and trying. She has a very specific style – but so does Shane, fortunately (God bless the good editor who persuaded Victoria to write the book in the interview form!). Have you got past Victoria's "flowery" beginning to Shane's stories from Tipperary? The book is an absolutely great read and a must for every Shane's fan. Wait with throwing it out of the window... Or better tell me when you do so, and I'll come to catch it.

And..

I didn't mind Victoria's outbreaks very much.. Actually i enjoyed them most of the time. Been a while since I read the book though, so perhaps I should not express myself too much about it..

But nevertheless! great book! yessir.

i got it yesterday, and i have read almost a third of it by today, i dont think that i have ever been compelled to read a book that fast before.

it really is good, and it explains a lot about shane!

when i was in the shop, they also had another book (called: London Irish punk life and music, Shane Macgowan) by Joe merrick, do you know whether that is any good? coz i'd never heard of that one before, and intend to buy it if it is.

i really like the apology at the end- it made me laugh

he has really put his body and mind through some really cruel abuse though, hasn't he!!

Ok, I will keep it (the book) in mind for when I have money to spend on "stuff"
