So now we know the ticket is for sale and we're just dickering over price, eh?

TWO pints of Guinness!

You'll all be pleased to know the ticket is going to a true old school Medusan. Face value + 1 pint of Guinness.

Smiling....there will be more than one Guinness for you my friend :)

I have two tickets spare for the birthday concert. The reason being that I had to buy four in order to get one for myself and another. I bought them from someone who was clearly selling to make a profit and for that reason they are not cheap - 300 Euros each. I am not a tout and I am making no money on this myself but I do want to try and get recoup the money I spent on the tickets I am not using. I don't expect any money upfront but just a firm commitment to meet at a given time and place on the day to exchange tickets and money. If this is of interest then please contact me at chingchok95@gmail.com
I accept its a lot of money but along with everyone else I tried and failed to buy tickets on the day (spent an hour and a half constantly phoning the booking line to eventually get through and it was sold out) so have had to go down this route.

This reminds me of when you could still get tickets on eBay, where the seller had very little numerical feedback.
The absolute twat who booked the tickets originally, should be taken round the back of the venue, on the night, and given a hiding.
Not that I'm expressing sour grapes or anything, of course. 300 Euro !! WHO BOOKED THE TICKETS? Big Sam?
Mike Ashley ?

To whoever may buy these tickets at such an exorbitant price..........

BE VERY CAREFUL. As far as I'm aware NO ACTUAL TICKETS were posted out to buyers online or over the phone. We received an email purchase confirmation. The tickets are at the box office from an hour or so before the doors open. I think the only ACTUAL tickets out there were purchased in person from the box office that Friday morning.

If you read this, Darren Gil. My advice is do not pay any cash until the ticket has been scanned at the entrance and you are in the venue. If 'atropian' is genuine, he or she will understand and no problem.

As far as atropian's story goes, I don't believe a word. I reckon they managed to get hold of 4 tickets online that morning and is now selling 2 of them to pay for the trip over and take advantage of another fans desperation.

Or am I just cynical?

No, not cynical. I totally agree. It's one thing the genuine folk on this forum helping each other out for tickets for shows over the years. But this is taking things to a whole new level. It's touting at it's very ugliest. Perhaps atropian (" I HAD to buy four"!) can come back on here and suggest otherwise?
The way that the venue/ promoter has set up the ticket distribution, the "original" purchaser should be there at pick up time, bucket full of Euros exchange time and scanning upon entry time?
I smell shite !!

Just a word,I did see four tickets advertised on Donedeal soon after they went on sale so the person who claims to be selling these tickets may well be genuine, however they are still feeding into the world of touting by playing the game.

Any news or rumours about additional artists or special guests for the show? I´m surprised Sharon Shannon is listed since she´s been playing with Shane a lot.

Sharon Shannon wrote on her Facebook page that she is going to play the show. Looks like Steve Wickham from The Waterboys and Terry Edwards are joining them too.

I'll do my best to video as much as I can and share it.

It's come around quick and only wish there was a whole bunch going. I've seen a few tweets from Cait. Herself and Jem (amongst others) met in Dublin and started rehearsals on thursday. They must be taking it seriously!

Here's a great read from The Irish Times. A few mistakes on crediting Shane with writing The Galway Races and dueting with Cait on Haunted. Enjoy.

Great article, thanks for sharing. Don't let videoing get in the way of enjoying the moment. Have a fantastic time, we'll raise a glass or few here.
