"The Wall of Fame is a permanent outdoor photographic exhibition celebrating Ireland's favourite musical heroes.

Dave Fanning launched a monumental tribute to Ireland's renowned musical talent with a flick of a switch on a cold October night. The Wall of Fame was lit up in a Temple Bar street and Dublin music fans gazed up to see the twelve Irish music legends permanently captured in this fitting tribute.

The Wall of Fame features the legendary 70's rock artists, Phil Lynott, Van Morrison and Rory Gallagher, the iconic new wave bands, The Boomtown Rats and The Undertones, the inimitable folk talents that are Luke Kelly, Christy Moore and Paul Brady, the country's favourite female musical talents, Dolores Keane and Sinead O'Connor and the very gifted songwriter, Shane MacGowan.

The Wall of Fame was concieved by Becky Dunford of Rockarchive Gallery, Dave Allen from Temple Bar Music Centre and John McCormack of Exclusive Blinds. Artist were chosen for their pioneering work in contributing to modern popular music and their efforts to place Irish music at the centre of the world stage."

By the way, the Dublinks.com report up there has at least one error - wrong Dolores! It's Dolores O'Riordan on the Wall of Fame, not Dolores Keane.

I'd be very pissed off if he wasn't
It was on the 23rd of June
As I lay blasted in my room
A small bird sang on an ivy branch
And the song they sang was the "Jug of Punch"
