Been looking forward to it for some time. But it's not been released yet, has it? Appears to be listed for US release on 23rd November. Any idea when it may appear on the other side of the Atlantic?

Anyone here in the area who can go and tell us whether Shane is still in?
Last Saturday The Times (no, I don't read that!!) had an article on The Libertine, doesn't mention Shane but instead Johnny Depp with a false nose, which might be almost as good.
UK release might be 18 Nov.

From my understanding, Shane has only a small cameo appearance, which might be why he was left out of the trailer.

Tennyson and Brontë loved his poetry.
So why is the Earl of Rochester remembered only as a drunken lech?
Barry Didcock on the slow rehabilitation of a 17th century rake and libertine
HIS lyrics were peppered with obscenities and satirised peers and rivals alike. He scandalised polite society by partying hard with actresses and prostitutes and yet he has won many fans, among them feminist critic Germaine Greer. He was implicated in at least one murder, was an early practitioner of “dogging” and had a number of alter egos, including Dr Bendo. He could regularly be found quaffing claret in city nightspots and among his many affectations was a pet monkey. Predictably, he died young. And now Johnny Depp is going to play him in the movie biopic.

He basically had a part where he "lampooned" charles II as he passed by on horse back. Malkovich stops dead tracks and cold gazes Shane, Shane had started off his scripted song by working "London your a Lady" for a verse then breaking into the scripted song. slags himoff over having a possible dose of the clap.
