I dont really know whaty to make of this.Would Shane really be playing before these lot?Not that I dont like them I haVE SEEN THEM twice and they are good but the thing is i havent seen any notice of this on any Shane MacGowan or Popes website gig lists .?

It will be good for me if they do play first cos I wont be too

if Shane had been involved from the start he would have headlined BUT May 29 at Shepherds Bush has for months and months been the London stop on the Alabama 3 May UK tour. So all the tickets have been sold to Alabama 3 fans. Only in last couple of weeks did the gig become a benefit show (for a charity that fights injustices done in the courts, like Birmingham 6) and Shane was asked if he wanted to join in, being a cause he supports he would naturally want to.

But he couldn't headline in front of 2000 rabid A3 fans!

:) :)

his set might be short?

The link doesn't work for me either. But try this one - it lists the Popes indeed! Though probably Shane-less...

truth of the matter is shane didn't want to be second on the bill. joey booked it mainly to keep the popes name out and about. albama 3 asked him because ticket sales were sluggish. shane never wanted to do it. the mojo people have been after him for years. he has no interest.

Alabma 3 were miles better than last time I saw them ,I bought a tshirt after the speech at the end
