frank skinner show

Post Thu Nov 11, 2004 12:45 am

Thursday 11th November Shane Macgowan is a guest on the Frank Skinner show. not sure if he is only being interviewed or if he is performing, or both, but should be good either way.

i fucking missed it, do you no if its ITV2, i would look myself, but by the time i get back from school, i will have forgotten, so if anyone can reply before lunchtime (when i have a business lesson on the computer) then that would be great

but if not, then i will just tell my mum to remind me to tape ITV2 for the whole night

If Paddy Rolling Stone Forum can be believed, there is nothing to miss:

„From ITV: Thank you for your email. Paula Radcliffe has replaced Shane MacGowan on the 11th. Unfortunately the tv publications are printed two to three weeks in advance, so if there are any late changes then their information will be incorrect. Regards, DUTY OFFICER.AE.“ (posted by anonymous)

„I have been told that Shane will be doing Frank Skinner show on 25th November – recording on 23rd. I got told this by 2 seperate people closely associated with Shane today.“ (posted by Paul McCluskey)

So no hurry...

Well, there's no accounting for taste... To show a different point of view, here are some fans' reviews of the show (originally posted to PRS forum):

Just watched Shane on Skinner. It was great to see him in such great form. He was such a funny bastard I think he's great healtier everytime i see him. So funny seeing him with the false teeth in. Pity the Skinner crowd were laughin at him instead of with him.
(Pierce)

I think it went ok. He won them over with the Victoria bit, the highlight was when Frank said that they had something in common, and as quick as flash Shane said "yeah...bad shirts" That was sheer class.
(Wrecker)

Was a great interview, funny and not all about the drinking and drugs........he seems in good frame of mind..........who knows what will happen after the pogues reunion gigs.........but one thing that shane should do is start the jogging, what a fat-bastard he has become..........finally, what a comparison to the interview on the late late show about 4 years ago, where you had a thin, gaunt shane hardly able to talk with those infamous pauses and delayed replies.........last night was much better. and i think that skinner done very well, not taking the piss, asking about the album's and the reunion............and indeed the false teeth was hilarious........
(MR)

WELL DONE FRANK ! a great interview, although Shane was nervous he handled it well and Frank made him feel at home, I think Shane was looking the best I have seen him for years, that little extra weight takes away the old gaunt look, and what a wicked sence of humour he had, and as for the false teeth, good on ya Shane!
TOP MAN.
