The documentary is being shown on Sky Arts on 19th December.

Sadly we can't get Sky Arts in our house so I will have to try and get it another way.

I saw a photograph of Shane with Cait on Twitter earlier on today with his new teeth. To be honest I had to look twice to make sure it was him.

Shane having teeth somehow seems a bit wrong.

the fucker looks amazing. He never fails to amaze me.

@Manni: yeah, he got em made in Spain in 2009, but didn't like them and subsequently didn't wear em long. Apparently they were very uncomfortable and "made me look like a dickhead." :D

Well the documentary has just been shown and i'll have to watch it again to really see if i liked it. First impressions were that the film makers were not in any way sensation seeking, The interviews with Shane, Victoria, Theresa, Siobhan, Jem and Johnny Depp were interspersed with clips from old music vids such as That Woman Got Me Drinking, The Song With No Name, Rainy Night In Soho and Dirty Old Town among others.

He comes across as very lucid and in great form but still very shook looking after breaking his pelvis (there's not any shots of him standing up). The teeth look weird to be honest. Straight after they're fitted he's very swollen and does not look good but later in the final interview he looks great.

At the end he's in the studio with the Cronins. Cait joins him for a rendition of Fairytale but you only see 'I could've been someone..... Well so could anyone' (The Cronins sound excellent by the way).

I'll watch it again over the Christmas.

As an aside, The Story Of The Jam is now on and a guy called Adrian Thrill said the first Jam gig he went to was with a mate of his called Shane MacGowan and they showed the footage of the very early gigs with Shane in the audience (not wearing the Union Jack coat).

Dammit, I should've recorded that one if I'd known. Got distracted by the Broooce doco on BBC4 at the same time. TV all gets a bit confusing when the darts is on, as we're mostly watching that.

Have recorded Shane's teeth for later viewing.

Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn: Yep I missed it to, must say on the Picture in the Daily Mail, Shane looks a bit pale on the whole OK, has he spent any time on the wagon recently?
Right lets hope for a repeat.

The documentary was a mixed bag I thought. If Shane was Hell bent on getting new gnashers, then good on him. It'll take a while for us all to get used to his new look, as it will for him to have company in his mouth again. Time rolls on, and stands still for no one. Personally, I thought Shane looked quite frail, but I suppose he's been through a lot lately. On the dentist chair, (AND he went back for more...who on earth does that at the dentist...?) as well as breaking his pelvis.
I loved the footage of his sister freaking out to the Nips on the wee turntable, got me right in the mood to listen to some.
Victoria came across really well on the programme, as did the sound of the Cronins. I also liked the way Shane referred to his old sparring partner as "Costello" when he was asking about the camera.
It's given us something to watch and talk about, as there's not much doing in the County Hell at the moment.
Would still love a gig or a tour. Somehow, watching the programme last night, made me feel that any live Pogues dates is a real long shot at the moment. Hope Shane's Christmas and Birthday has some extra "Bite" to it this year.........(sorry!)
