Bono later apologized for the unwanted insertion into Christmas. "We kind of got caught up in the idea" said Bono. "It was a combination of hubris and unbridled enthusiasm. Sorry about that."
Some in the press have defended the un-asked for Bono by saying "well it's not like he came personally to your house and pissed in the soup."
