Benefit Concert For Paul From The Popes. London29 November

Post Thu Oct 09, 2014 8:52 am

Paul 'mad dog' McGuinness from The Popes is a whole lot better since his accident. here's a update on the London Celtic Punks blog that includes a donation button to send him a couple of quid. if you didn't know The Popes began as Shane MacGowan's backing band before going on to becoming one of the celtic-punk/rock scene's premier bands.

I'd love to see Shane and Paul back on stage. The popes will never be the same without Tom (R.I.P.) but great memories. Had the pleasure of meeting Paul twice at gigs in the hay day. He knows how to liven up a stage and a get the crowd going. Best of luck with it all.
