He even had his daughters listen to "nationalist" (or more accurately "racist") music.

Nationalist music, not so much. I'm his daughter and me and my sister were Never brought up with rasist music or a rasist father. So don't conclude things from everything you read on the internet.

Well, reading that interview he claims he joined the NF in 1980. Any reasonable definition of the NF's platforms is indeed racist. So it's fair to say that he does hold, or at least has held, racist views in his support of the NF platform. There we have it, horse's mouth and all.

As to the discussion of this thread, 1980 is after his tenure in The Nips, and, as has been noted, the first Skrewdriver album was not nationalist or racist in content. And if we take Philip at his word that the band was just "bunch of nice kids from Blackpool", it's reasonable to assume that - whatever right wing politics any of it's members had - they weren't throwing them in people's faces back in the day.

So i think the question that was on most people's mind here - Did the Nips have a fascist in the band? - has been answered with a clear enuf "No."

The secondary questions of was Ginny ever a racist, NF supporting twit has also been answered, which is a bit interesting to me as common wisdom on the subject (by those of us who weren't there and know nothing about it) has held that the nationalist thing was Ian's shtick alone. Although realizing that they were all childhood friends makes it less surprising.

I am the daughter of grinny!! My dad was in the nips/tumbling dice/ skrewdriver as a drummer! He was in a white power band but i think this was all a front as part of character as band as bk then were all teddys/skinhead!! Like todays chav /emos!! Regardless of what he was tho, he was a fantastic drummer as well as a fantastic dad, although that was cut short!!
R.I.P.
Thanks
