Is it true that Shane is ill and has been replaced with some girl for the Jools Holland gigs. It's not official, at least not yet. A friend read it somewhere on the internet when he was going to order tickets and then he told me.

Does anyone know something about this? Hopefully it's just a stupid rumour.

The special guest on the tour will be the legendary Shane MacGowan who, with The Pogues, wrote and recorded the universally loved Christmas anthem Fairytale Of New York (with the late, great Kirsty MacColl), which reached No 2 in the UK singles charts. He also collaborated on the track Just To Be Home With You, written by Jools and featured on the Jack O The Green – Small World Big Band Friends 3 album.

Jools has also invited UK pop icon Sandie Shaw back out on the road with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra as guest vocalist for the Autumn/Winter Tour, following a hugely successful Spring/Summer Tour with Sandie as the special guest and reviewers describing her performance as "fantastic...in her element", and "[Shaw's] genuine excitement and enthusiasm to be on stage was infectious and the crowd took her to their hearts".

Sandie Shaw will appear alongside Shane MacGowan to provide joint special guest duties on 18 of the last 20 dates. MacGowan is special guest for all dates on the tour.

Nahh im a friend of Victoria on facebook and she posted a pic of Shane and Liam Neeson the other day and he looked fine. Apparently Shane was helping with acting tips

If you check other threads on this forum you will see that Shane just performed several shows with the band, and is being well reviewed, so no need to worry about Shane. Which is strange, really...
