Merthyr Tydfil-born actor Jonathan Owen last night described the casting of the Bafta-winning stars as the “stuff of fantasy”.
Svengali, which started life as a “viral” video on internet site YouTube, stars Owen as Dixie, the manager of a Welsh band trying to make it big in London.
The actor, who has starred in Shameless and Good Arrows – the directorial debut of Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh – managed to entice the cream of the music world to star in his online comedy including Creation Records founder Alan McGee, Carl Barat of the Libertines, Boy George and The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan.
