I just bought it off itunes, but am stateside. Its not too bad, and will probably make it into the holiday rotation this year, and other years where I have, er uh ... get to spend with my mother in law, who loves Little Drummer Boy.

Thinking about it, it's probably the Priests' organization trying to manipulate the sales into December to try and get some publicity via the UK Xmas charts. Which makes sense, but it's still kinda shitty to be favouring the US.

That sickening thud you just heard was my realising that The Priests are not, after all, the death-trash-speed-metal combo I had always assumed them to be and whose logo gave me no reason to believe otherwise. Sometimes you can take the boy out of the village in Tipperary but you can't take the village in Tipperary....................

Nope, it still serves as the laundry folding table. Maybe a good project for this winter.

I'm going to continue whinging about this. It's not easy being a MacGowan completist, it's an unforgiving hobby at the best of times. But with this track, the Americans get it now, the Irish have to wait until the 10th December and then the UK three whole days after that.

It's almost as if these Irish Catholic priests have got something against the English...

I understand you´re waiting for the single but I guess they want a Christmas hit so no point releasing it in early November. You can listen to it on Spotify, Shane does a good job.

I love this!

I've always loved the Bing/Bowie version, up there in my top 5 xmas songs, and wasn't sure what to expect of this verson.

But I think its great. And I am really surprised by how good shanes vocals sound. It gives me hope that some day we might hear a new pogues record....??!

I downloaded the song yesterday. I'm actually very impressed with Shane's vocals. They're probably the best since before Peace and Love. This gives me hope that maybe the Pogues can figure out a way to put together a new album one day.
