you are searching for

Shane MacGowan
My Way
1996 ZTT Records Ltd. (Warner Music UK Ltd.)

1. My Way
2. Song With No Name
3. Aisling
4. My Way (Your Way - Away With You)

it's out of print. I suggest eBay. If you don't find it, register here and PM me. You'll have to talk me through some logistics.

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies.

I already have a copy of the CD single, and it's categorically not the exact same version as the one used in the ad (which can be seen again at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci-E4rqGhF8). Compared to the single, Shane's singing in the ad is much more languid and laid back, and sounds so much better. The backing track sounds exactly the same as on the single, but the vocal track is definitely different. Going by remarks on the Youtube page, it looks like the audio track used in the ad simply isn't available in full.

I do know - or at least read upthread - that they had to piece together two very different vocal takes from Shane in different moods and times, it not being his most focused period and Nike being something it's very difficult to get excited about. I think you can hear them switch gears at 20 seconds "I've lived ... A LIFE THAT'S FULL". It's possible the excerpt on the advert itself is all that exists of that mix.

Maybe totally wrong about this but I think the cd track is the full audio ,of which edited bits are used in the ad over another sound effects track [wind, rain ,water flowing ,splashes, gravel etc.].Shane vocal level does sound higher but this may be done just to bring his voice to the front. The gear switch you mention sounds more like a pause as the runner comes to a stop.
Can remmeber years ago listening to the offical release of Repo Man sound track and a copy of the actual song in the film with the actors lines and other film background noises. They was a dramatic difference in the two. With out the actors lines/film sound effects some of the tracks really lost an edge and sounded off .
