Any idea if there's going to be an official release on cd of this or is it going to be mp3 only?

There are currently no plans for a physical release.

The track is now available for purchase. See the front page (http://www.pogues.com) for links. Please encourage your friends, families, co-workers, and yes, enemies too, to go and buy it. 100% of the proceeds go to Concern Worldwide and their Haiti relief efforts.

Just completed my purchase. And it's simply a fantastic track.
Well done to all concerned in the making. All this and a good cause too. What more could anyone want? Buy it now.

When you dowload from 7 digital you get a choice of MP3 or AAC.
Does any one on here know which is best .To be honest I am clueless .
Will they both work with standard music players eg windows media player ,apple ipod ,etc.

Technically AAC is a little more modern a format and gets slightly better quality for the same encoded bit rate. AAC is the "preferred" format for iTunes and the iPod ("preferred" meaning "the default"), but it is not a proprietary format. Other devices should be able to use it. MP3 is a more venerable format and it generally works anywhere.

According to http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_singles.php the single doesn't seem to have bothered the top 100 this week. Damn shame but I hope it's raised a good amount of cash for the Haiti cause.

On a side note someone claiming to be Shane himself has been posting lots on Twitter this week (@shane_macgowan). I originally thought this must be a wind-up but some of the content seems quite genuine, and refers to Victoria setting it up and writing a lot of the messages, which isn't unlikely. I'd love to know if it's really Shane. Does anyone know? :?

Is this the worst performing charity single ever? Gutted. Simon Cowell must be pissing himself

Even if i downloaded it from iTunes another 100 times, because i'm in Ireland it ain't going to help the uk chart position.
