Shane's rehabilitation

Post Thu Jul 15, 2004 9:21 pm

A fascinating item about Shane appeared on the TODAY programme on Monday. For those outside the UK that's BBC radio's premier news programme, usually devoted to heavy political issues. Link is:

Go to the link given, then scoll down the programme schedule until you get to 8.22 then click on "Shane MacGowan".

Here's the direct link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/listenagain/ram/today4_pogues_20040712.ram

The impression I got from this whole thing was that they (BBC) see him as a pathetic drunkard who is trying to get back, but will not make it :(

The interview is 6:38, and it's got some nice song snippets in it, though.
