Erm, one wee thing which may seem a bit pedantic I know however McGowan was born in Tunbridge Wells. You don't get much more English!

Growing up in England and spending all your holidays at home in Ireland really does make the grá for the oul sod very intense at different times during your life. Whilst I can only imagine that devouring copious amounts of Irish literature, folklore, laudanum and potín would give you a slightly rose tinted view of your own past.
