everywhere has it faults, but it's places like Hammersmith that are nothing BUT faults.

I've been to Liverpool a couple of times. It's a place you can only like if you're a scouser. It's nowhere near as bad as Manchester though...

As a certain Mancunian once said; 'It's not where you're from it's where you're at.' Easy for him to say as he was from Manchester

You can come here anytime Philip, make sure you come and visit me though!

Used to have this idea about hiring a bus and putting on a 'Transmetropolitan" tour... never came to anything, of course.

So who's going to drive the bus with the bar? Shane? We might get great comment on those sites!

Not sure about the advisability of having Shane as driver, Christine... he can do the commentary, though, like on the tourist buses. And select places to stop for refreshment.

And of course you can have a seat, Walshy. We wouldn't go without you!

Well, let's make it a summer trip... wouldn't have to worry about getting to the gig in time then. Unless we could have a summer gig too...

This idea gets better and better.

Shane used to have a flat above 'Stephenson's Stores' on Cromer Street, Kings Cross, London WC1. I went there once in 1985 with Joanne Ratcliffe and Julie Bedwell. It was a bit grim - but you soon get used to Shane's domestic arrangements.

Had a great time! There was a pub at the end of the street called The Duke of Wellington - Is it there now?
