The memories of stumbling from bar to boozecan with my dear friend Jeremy, howling out Sickbed... whilst kicking the crap out of newspaper boxes. Priceless.

Unfortunately, that was the day Tom McManaman died and the band were not at there best, but it was also the night that Philip dedicated Thousands to me, which was a total surprise, topped off by meeting some of the members of my favourite band after the show.

Have to add to this and say that it is the photo of me and Philip together from that aftershow. As I said in my blog (if you read it), I cherish it.

Aside from the memories, my most prized Pogues memorabilia include the pin badges, the poster disc, the stickers disc, my Poguetry book, and my Red Roses for Me promo pub mirror.

Heather, I did enjoy your blog, very much. Keep writing.

:D My signed photos, one of the whole band on stage, one of James flat on his back and best of all, one with a personal dedication from Phil. Many thanks are due to the janitor. :D

Well, I have a picture with the Maestro from the book tour, plus his autograph. PMs from Mr. Chevron and the memory of his dedication of 1000s to my mother less than a week before she passed away.

On a lighter note, the memory of Shane doing "Gentleman Solidier" at the Opera House in Boston back in 1989 with the lyric sheet plastered to his crotch because of the fans they were using (it was a hot one). There was a clip on Youtube but I haven't seen it in awhile.

Not actually The Pogues, so I don't know if it counts, but i have a signed copy of The Radiators (Plan 9) "Television Screen 2004" EP. So that means it has Phil & Cait on the disc, and of course both signed. But the gold pen being used apparently exploded part way through Phil's signature, so i have half his signature followed by a splotch, but on the back it's got two of his fingerprints.

It also, for my money, has the definitive edition of "Kitty RIckets", with Cait doing a stellar vocal.

I still have the ticket stub from a 1991 gig at Leeds University.
I found it last month at the bottom of a drawer.

Nice stuff there. 8)

I have that T-shirt too, and love it, though sadly it no longer fits me :(

And I hate to say it, but the positioning of the hole on that Poguetry picture disc always makes it looks as if Shane has an enormous zit on his chin...

I never thought anything of it, but to me it looks like he's the only one in the world happy to have a tracheotomy. I just hope he doesn't try to still smoke through it.

Hello,

I see this is a rather old post with a couple of fairly recent posts and so figured it’s worth a shot...

When I was about 8/9 years old, the whole family used one of those chewy sweets that turns your teeth blue so you really have to brush them well to remove the colour - it’s so you brush them properly. Anyways, I was brushing my teeth when the unthinkable happened - I knocked the mirror to the floor... it smashed to tiny pieces and I’m fairly certain my dad held back tears of despair. It wasn’t any old mirror, it was the Pogues Red Roses for Me promotional mirror.

I wondered if anyone in this chat / group might be able to help with some ideas on how I might go about sourcing one for him. It’s his 60th birthday in 2023 and I would love to surprise the hell out of him. Of course, I don’t expect anyone here that might have one to be wanting to part with it, but you may know someone or hear of something that could help!

Anyways, if you have an advice or know if anyone / where to approach it would be most appreciated!

All the best,
Lydia
