He's hardly a numpty; as strange as it may seem to you, not everyone on the planet is a Celtic FC fan.

It's got nothing to do with him not being a Celtic fan. It's to do with him being "worried" that people might sing "celtic football songs", as if it would harm him in any way.

I stand by my initial point; not everyone on the earth supports Celtic Football Club.

If for some reason he has been fed duff information that a Pogues gig turns into some Celtic love in, then he's quite right to be worried. Why on earth would you want to go and see a band and spend the evening mixed in with people singing Football songs about a team you've no links to?

It wont harm him in any way, shape or form but id say he's right to be worried that it might spoil his evening.

Having been to the concerts in Glasgow, I can tell you that it's a unique experience. The crowd is full of Celtics fans, yes. And if the band demurs the slightest in getting on with the setlist, the crowd will fill in spontaneously. That's part of the atmosphere. Great crowd, no violence. Nothing to worry about here. Get right down front and center, you won't get bruised. I loved it. Go fot it.

If it makes you feel better, I suspect the Pogues have much bigger speakers and amplifiers than the audience. I also suspect that the Pogues' ~90 minutes of performance will be much more than X minutes of audience Celtics Sing-Along.

To be fair I know where he is coming from. I once saw Celtic play at Anfield and as soon as the teams came out onto the pitch the fans exploded into Streams of Whiskey, then proceeded to do a whole Pogues set. After the game they left the ground only for the whole of Anfield to cheer them back in to which they proceeded to do three more numbers which ended with Fairytale of New York with the boys singing Shanes bit and the girls singing Kirstys bit. Its all true
