Having Cait and Spider sing a couple songs (on Rum..) was pure gravy, wasn't it?
I still think that Cait's version of "a man..." is THE best ever. And Spider was great on "Jesse.." and COMPLETELY shined on "Tuesday Morning"!

i agree with what you said about im a man you dont meet everyday
she's got an amazing voice
i dont know if it's just the song
or if she just happened to be in a good funk
but it's golden
The girl cried out a few times and the old man slept with his mouth wide open and his bad teeth showing.

Hmm, that's interesting, dunc, I'll have to go and have another listen. Though it's always sounded like Terry on vocals to me.

Back on topic, there's a list of recordings of "Jesse James" here: http://bruce.orel.ws/seegersessions/son ... james.html

Don't know how comprehensive it is.

Well, it doesn't have Riley Puckett's version, which is pretty good. A slightly different version than others I've heard. I think I like Van Morrison doing it with Lonnie Donegan the best.

The flip side of Riley's version is "Old Joe Clark". It's really great. I've acquired quite a taste for "the Hillbilly Caruso".

FYI -- Puff Daddy just named one of his kids Jessie James. Must be a Pogues fan.

I doubt very seriously someone as useless, musically untalented, and manufactured like Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, (who gives a fuck really,) has heard of The Pogues.
