Beside Shane, who is your favorite Pogues composer?

Beside Shane, which Pogue makes the best songs? Personally, I would go with Terry Woods. I really love the songs he did for P+L and Hell's Ditch, and some others.

Jem Finers lyrics are really wonderful also.

Curse of love, Misty morning and Night train to lorca is some of his best. (if you ask me)

They also say that Jem was co writing some of Shanes lyrics? How much did he help, or was it just musical part he did help him with?

I really like most of Spider's work as well but they're all such talented songwriters and musicians although one of them has a bit more inspiration (for several reasons)

ditto! I love Spiders Writing - I think the lyrics he wrote for Tuesday Morning are lovely, and his Pogue Mahone lyrics are very bluesy as well! like How Come!
either him or Phillip Chevron - thousands are sailing is a classic!

All of the above, + I also think "Trad" is a great composer. ;-)

He/she is responsible for some brilliant Pogues songs: Greenland Whale Fisheries and Kitty for a start... :-)

I think Jem is also a great songwriter - it was his idea to do Fairytale in the first place!

I'll have to go with Terry Woods here. And I do like the Phil Chevron songs too... I guess it was the mixture of the different styles that made them great :-)

If I would have to choose just one Pogue (excluding Shane) it would be Terry but Jem and Phil are close behind!

For me it's between Jem Finer and Phil Chevron. Phil's "Thousands Are Sailing" and "Lorelei" are two of my fave Pogues songs ever, but Jem's "Misty Morning Albert Bridge" is utterly swoonworthy, and of course he co-wrote "Fairytale of New York." I'll probably tip the scales in favor of Jem because for some reason I've always loved his "Train of Love," plus he gets tons of bonus points for co-writing "He Never Mentioned Love" with Kirsty MacColl, which is one of my favorite songs she ever did.

I also think Jem has written som really good songs. Tosspint is fantastic, i love Misty Morning, A Pistol For Paddy Garcia, The Wake of the Medusa, Curse Of Love, Amadie the list goes on....

personally I think most of the pogues have written extremly good songs,

Jem's Misty Morning Albert Bridge great lyrics and he played a part in the construction of Fairytale of New York.

Terry Woods's Young Ned Of The Hill proper irish song.

Spider Stacey's Repeal Of The Lincening (spell check) laws possibly the best instrumental, Tuseday Morning made top 20 can't be bad.

Phillip Chevron's Thousands are sailing is a fucking pogues classic.

Shane erm.......we would be hear all year.

and the other lads Mr's Ranken, Fernaly and Hunt have chiped in with cracking songs aswell.

Terrys Young Ned Of The Hill
And Spiders Repeal Of the Liscencing Laws (fucking is hard to spell innit?)
