Where are The Pogues?

If we watch this video we hear a band named the Pogues being introduced. Yet the only Pogue we see is Spider Stacey. Why is this? Cheers!

This was back when Waiting for Herb was released. I was disappointed when it was broadcast. It was advertised as the Pogues, but it was Spider and a guitarist I don't recognise being backed by Paul Schaffer and the Late Night Band.

The Letterman Show offer came in at the tail end of a very knackering US Tour. Only Spider could be bothered crossing the Atlantic once again just to do the TV show. He took with him our then guitar tech, name of Paul McGuinness.

To give credit where credit is due, I thought that Spider, McGuiness and the Paul Schaffer band actually turned in a very good rendition of Tuesday Morning in that clip. I was impressed.

And Spider looked cool in those sunglasses.

Thx for posting the clip!
