The new 'Ultimate' Pougues is superb.

The first CD contains a great combination of the finest Pogues tracks.

I, personally have been collecting bootlegs for years, hoping to find one that reflects the 'live' experience. This offical live recording is great, I love every minute of it.

Go out and get it - its a must have!!

I think I'll wait for the live album to be released as a single disc. I have no desire to spend extra money on songs I already have on the albums...

It has been pointed out in the past that the disc would cost 10.99 regardless of the inclusion or exclusion of the collection disc.

Feel free to wait, but you may just end up spending the same money for less physical media.

Where was that stated? I've been away for a few days and I've not been keeping up with the forum...

You can usually get a really good deal on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace anyway - I got the last two remastered Pogues albums for *50p* + P+P. :P

Phil Chevron pointed it out at PRS Forum couple of times:

Mr Chevron:
By the way, folks: if we had released the live album on its own, it would still have cost £10.99, so I'm not quite sure who's supposed to be losing out here. And, believe it or not, there are millions of people, nay billions, the world over who have yet to buy a Pogues record. PLEASE don't begrudge them the opportunity!! (18072)

I suggest that if you decide to buy it, you throw away the free "best of" (the CD would still cost the same price - £10.99 - if it was just the live album) or better still, give it to a Franz Ferdinand fan. (18211)

its a brilliant album! bought it straight away yesterday in Woolworths - £9:99! I'd love to see it chart as the number one ablum! But to be blunt, who cares if the other disc has got the best of tracks? sure you've got all the songs elsewhere, but not on the same disc! and besides, this the first 'best of' to feature tuesday morning as a track, and love it or hate it, as Mr. Chevron stated, it was there biggest hit internationally. so I encourage everyone to go out and get the CD! its everywhere, WHSmith, Woolworths, ASDA, HMV, Virgin, and its got great sleevenotes from Spider as well!
I think we should all as fans promote the album as much as possible, cos I can see it charting if enough people go out and get it!!!!!

i have the 2CD ultimate pogues too... and i dont like it very much. i mean, it`s ok. but i think, it`s very cheap. i mean, i dont like the sound so much on the live cd, booklet is poor (ok, the music is the most important thing, i know, but after the great re-release of the original albums, i think this live album, of which i waited sooooooo long, is a bit shit. for me, it looks like that the album wasn`t make with much love, just a not so important release, because of the hype of the pogues in this days (reunion and re-release of original albums). but this is just my opinion.

I saw the advert for it on TV yesterday, which used footage from the music videos. IMO it would have been a much better release if they'd brought it out as a DualDisc with the live album on one side and a DVD with the vids on the other...

The first one is more a straight up horror movie - Ash doesn't have the same sly wit as in parts 2 and 3. Some of the special effects are really crappy too. Still, it's a great film - well worth renting...
