Gary Owen

I just got my boxed set. It's great. I heard a bit of the tune Gary Owen in the 4th ot 5th song on disc one. I think it's a great tune.

Is Gary Owen a song the Pogues would ever play live?

The Pogues have played it live at least once - the tune can be heard at the end of "Donegal Express" performed on July 9, 1991 at Festa de l'Unità in Italy (the recording of it circulates as bootleg).

Except on the box set it's credited as 'The Hen and The Cock are in Carrickmacross', not 'Gary Owen'. Or is it a medley of both tunes?

Many Irish tunes have multiple provenance. This is one such tune.
