Peter was the first person to cover a Pogues song when he did "A Pair of Brown Eyes" on his first post-Plimsouls album.

As I remember reading Cait O´Riordan was not too impressed with his cover, saying anything like "he doesn´t understand the words of the song at all".

What do you think about his cover ?

To be honest, I've never much liked any of the covers of that song.

Monto and The Dublin Fusiliers would rock too.

For Finnegan's Wake to have appeared on the box set, The Pogues would first have had to record it.

Admittedly, that would have helped my case

So after having suggested Grace, which is admittedly not traditional, I am now thinking that Easy and Slow would be a wonderful cover considering that Shane was the saving grace on the Ballad of Ronnie Drew. And if it isn't too much to ask you could do it in Boston in March. But I'll be happy no matter what.
