Yes, I think 'Sally Maclennane' for me, too.
'Streams Of Whiskey' is immense though, is it not? I remember when I got the first LP, I felt sure that a mis-print had credited this song to 'MacGowan', as surely this had to be a 'traddy'!

Yeah another couple of incredibly catchy tunes there! Although Sally Mac has been knocked off my top spot, of all time great drinking songs since finding out about the homo-eroticsm within! (parting glass i give thanks) "Jimmy played harmonica" who'd have thought it, eh? :D

I'm no expert, neebour, but I don't see it myself.

What is it specifically that you find homo-erotic about the song?

Well, he specifically mentioned the Parting Glass site:

http://www.poguetry.com/rsl.htm#Sally

According to Fran that whole verse about the harmonica is a subtle description of earning a living giving blowjobs in the bar.

I think that's a bad interpretation. But regardless, I think it's even lamer to decide not to like a song only because there's a hint that one verse may be about call-boys doing man-on-man action at a bar.
