All this talk about curry is just too much for a hungry bloke to take.

But I want a proper authentic curry, just like whoever invented it meant it to be when it was first thought of, not some multicultural chicken tikka massala abomination.

Try and keep up at the back will ye, for fuck's sake ? I was referring to the origin of the feud between me and our host. If you can't keep up with proceedings and are out of your depth Kilmichael just stay out of it ok ? The " incorrect statement " I was referring to, was when I described " South Australia " and " Battle march medley " as more traditional Poguetry than, say " Fiesta ". Phil correctly, but mischievously, pointed out that TBMM is NOT a traditional tune. Most reasonable people would accept the spirit of what I was saying and move on. But no. He got his hair in curlers and had to be pedantic about it. In your desperation Kilmichael, to be head boy, you have dived in to give me a kicking. In future get your fucking facts right, otherwise, shut the hell up. There's plenty more on this site for you to be going on with rather than trying to cause trouble here.

So basically what your saying is that we should read between the line and accept the spirit of what your saying? Where as on other topics (for example were I and others have tried to say reference musical direction) you have not accepted the spirit of what WE are saying? I cant believe you are saying that other posters are being pedantic? I half think this is a wind up but know better.

Just to be clear: there is no feud between you and "our host". There is only you being an ass and everyone else pointing out that you're an ass. Let's recap: you were wrong on the meaning of "traditional" and it would not have mattered a jot if you had not attempted to defend your definition to the death. There was nothing "mischievous" about my position - it's a substantive point that has a direct bearing on my income. You were wrong about the matter of Spider as intended lead singer right up to the point you found yourself obliged to accept you were wrong in the face of published record. Again, nobody would have cared a tinker's cuss had you not once again gone into battle to defend your position.

It's a bit rich, to say the least, to suggest to Kilmichael that he should "In future get your fucking facts right, otherwise, shut the hell up".

I'm confused. You and I have had a feud? When? I may have been drinking at the time and have since forgotten.

Oh, I see. When you said "Just to stay more on this thread..", which you said on this thread, I assumed you were talking about this thread, not an entirely different thread. That entirely different thread being the thread entitled 'How Come & The Pogues musical direction', which is the thread you now claim to have been talking about when you said "Just to stay more on this thread". Of course. Forgive me, I will ensure that in future not only my facts, but in fact my fucking facts, are in order.

Cue the image of Chevron, hunched over his computer (curtains drawn, save for a crack of light spilling through the dusty room). A wheezy cackle fills the air, as he rubs his hands together.... "Now, to re-write history!"

Speaking of pedantic. Every time you get caught up in it, you really go off on a "this is what i was arguing, not that..." and here you are re-capping a whole other argument. A "fight" (in your mind) that you keep referring to in this thread.

No no no, don't bother giving me a point-by-point he-said she-said. That's not really the point. Nor is language. It's attitude.

I'm going to say what i typed & deleted earlier: you are taking this all *WAY* too seriously. Seriously. Like, it borders on a mental health issue from where i'm sitting. Now, that's probably not the case, and i sure hope it isn't, but yes or no, what's really strange here is that - for somebody so passionately engaged in this stuff - you seem resistant to actual facts. Go read a fucking book or two on the matter, and come back & have an informed discussion. Hell, spend some time actually reading others' contributions to this forum and you can glean much of the story. Not to mention the archived interviews. But your weird random idea postulation followed by vigorous arguing - absent any reference to fact - has got to stop. It's embarrassing.

(There Philip, i've done as you asked. Now please release my cat!)

In regards to what defines "curry"…well, as the earliest known recipe for "meat in spicy sauce" apparently dates back to Mesopotamian times…unless we have some really old Medusans on board here…this may or may not be a matter of opinion. ;-)

Good curry knowledge! 8)
In that case, what I want is a curry cooked by one of the original Mesopotamians who was actually part of the cooking team at the time, who actually had spices, ingredients and/or cooking utensils used in the actual cooking in their hands, not just someone who was in or near the Mesopotamian curry kitchen.
