Is "Goodnight Irene," a live song? I knew the Pogues have played it live, correct me if I'm wrong doesn't Spider sing lead vocals?

At the beginning you can hear Shane say "This song's called Goodnight Irene..." which seems to come a little bit of a surprise to Spider - as far as I can tell, his is the next voice you can hear which (I think) says "What are we doing, Goodnight Irene?"

Makes me laugh every time I hear it...

I just went for broke and ordered the box set from amazon.co.uk, the box set is still out of stock on amazon.com. I ordered it through priority mail, and it should arrive within the next two-three days. It will ship to Virginia Beach, VA to my parent's house (46.15 pounds, which equals to about $96.00 in the US) Oh well!! I want this box set that damn bad.

I only ordered the box set off amazon.co.uk because it still is saying the box set is out of stock on amazon.com. DzM have you received your copy yet? Just curious

I'm embarrassed to admit that I have not actually ordered it yet. The DzM Homestead is feeling a little pinched by rising energy costs, failing RAM chips, rumors of layoffs, etc. We'll see how flush I'm feeling next month. Besides, when I was a kid I was taught that the wanting is half (well, maybe slightly less than half) the fun.

amazon uk shipped the day after I (re)ordered it.Shipped on Monday,had it in NY on Friday(regular shipping,not priority,I was amazed at the speed of arrival).Had a very busy weekend so I only got through disc 1,but it met all expectations

I just tried to order the box set- first Amazon (the US one) said that it wouldn't be available until July 1. Now they don't know when they are going to be able to get it. Jerks. Anywhere else I can get it? I was so thrilled to finally have it. It was gonna be a birthday gift to myself!

I too tried to order the box set off amazon.co.uk but my Visa card was declined because the website wouldn't accept my card. I went back and ordered it off one of the sellers from amazon.com; caiman.com, I put my order in and not a second later I received a payment confirmation email and an email from caiman.com confirming my order and allowing me to check the status. It will ship between 3-4 of July, so I should receive it sometime this month. Hopefully happy days!!!!

So I called Tower & even though their website said it was in stock it wasn't but I got this email...

Hi All,
Just a message from Australia to say that after no luck with amazon, I ordered the box set through "music-wow", an on-line store in Hong Kong. It took 10 days to get here, no problems whatsoever!
As far as I can tell, the box has not yet been released down-under, as no Australian on-line stores know about it.
As for the box set itself....even better than I had expected. Wonderful !!!

I just received an email saying that Amazon US has just shipped mine.

Just got one from Amazon Canada saying it's on it's way... of course, now i'm away, so i've got to mail a letter w/ a photocopy of my ID to those staying at my house in case they miss the postal carrier, so they can pick it up at the post office, then i don't get to hear it till i get home at the end of the month!
