Mine arrived today as well (a day or two earlier than expected - nice one Amazon!!). Dipped into bits of the first three discs so far and it's just outstanding. I love the studio version of "Maggie May", as well as "The Balinalee" (I'd only previously heard a scratchy live bootleg), "Glued Up And Speeding", the "Fairytale..." demos (genuinely fascinating to listen to) and the David Jensen session versh of "Boys From...".

One minor gripe is that the track listing sheet was stuck to the back so I've had to transfer it to the inside and it's still likely to end up dog-eared in time. A minor moan though.

Oh, and WMP isn't picking up the tracklistings yet, but I guess that's because it's a brand new release?? EDIT: I've manually edited a few tracks so I can get them to register on http://www.last.fm - I appear to be the first person ever to play a track by Sexy Bongo through last.fm ("Artist not recognised" when you click on it). Hoorah for me!

All in all, it's pant-wettingly wondrous and I cannae wait to hear the rest of it. So much to get through!!!

Many thanks Mr C for all your gargantuan efforts with this, and to the rest of the boys (and girls) as well just for the ace music. Cheers!

Sorry for the repeat post, but I forgot to add - I note one Stuart Pearce is in one of the photos (page 53). I had heard somewhere that he was a bit of a closet punk.

Is he a friend/associate of the band? Or was he just ligging at some gig or other? Anyone know?

Mo' Streaming

Post Tue Jun 03, 2008 10:10 pm

Just for fun, there are now ten tracks streaming on the front page. About half of them have been there already, and about half are new to you.

Don't suppose there's any word on an Australian release date as yet?

DzM, fyi I am getting a weird message when trying to play at least Donegal--NW3 was fine but for Donegal I get this window thingy that pops up and says:

"QuickTime Internet Authentication

Enter username for Streaming Server at qt-cm.edgestreams.net:

Userid: _______________
Password: _____________

Weird. Haven't tried anything besides those two so far. I don't know if that's a me thing or a you thing. Haven't seen that ever before though.

Edit: well now it works. Whoa that Donegal is a lot different than the released version. Not just the muted swearing. The later one is a lot harder. Both good but different! Just waiting until June 7, I think that's when mine is supposed to arrive.

Just tried Kitty and got the same message. Also the little bar that says "connecting" changes to "401 - unauthorized." Well I never, I am completely authorized. :P

Dunno what's up with that. The Warner streaming servers seem to be picky as hell. I'm reporting the problem to them.

I think I might have found a loophole fellow Medusans. It's look like I can order the box set off bestbuy.com it gets released on June 17. I get paid on the 13 of June, so I will put my order in, they tell me that it will arrive anywhere between June 17-23, I can't wait!!!!!!

The Almighty (Stuart Pearce) is a friend and fan and has been for many years. He still comes to the shows these days. Naturally, this is a desirable state of affairs for two old Forest supporters like myself and Darryl. There is nothing closetted about Psycho's punk credentials. I once went with Stuart to see Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Nottingham Rock City and found myself thinking "Wow! I'm with the Greatest Living Englishman and together we're watching the Other Greatest Living Englishman".

A few years earlier, I had introduced Stuart to his hero Joe at Derby Assembly Rooms, a meeting so one-sided (Joe didn't have a clue who Stuart was) that I set about curing Joe of his fraudulent football cred that very night.

You have to view the slightly annoying extra sheet of paper as a necessary evil. Most timid buyers quite like to know in advance which tracks they're buying and these people have to be indulged. But I was not prepared to indulge them at the expense of the lovely artwork. Throw it away, tuck it inside.......imagine it's not part of the package for real fans.

Strangely, when I stick the CDs into my comp, iTunes reckons the abum title is "Just Look Them Straight In The Eye And Call Them Pgoue Mahone". Which, apart from the obvious typo, changes the meaning just a tad... Ah, the vagaries of iTunes.

The sheet stuck to the back of the box is now tucked inside and acting as a bookmark.

Amazon.de seems to have cancelled the Box Set that is linked to at the front page. I had preordered it 2 weeks ago through that link, and two days ago they informed me that it was "extremely hard to obtain" and asked if I still wanted it.
However, they now have a "different" Box Set available with a release date of June 20th. Maybe the Admins want to change the link of the front page, so that it can be ordered through the Medusa web site?

Surely it is merely there as protection, to ensure the beautiful art work below does not get scratched on the mantelpiece
where it is proudly on display.

Oh Christ, if there's one thing I can't stand it's surly incompetence. IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOUR JOB IS TO ENCODE TITLES INTO THE BIG BAD iTUNES MACHINE (not you Firehazard), BUT WHILE YOU'RE WAITING FOR SOMETHING BETTER TO COME ALONG, PLEASE TRY TO DO THIS JOB REASONABLY WELL. IT'S EASIER THAN DOING IT BADLY. Mutter, Grumble, off his food......slams door....feeds ducks in park...etc..
