WARNERS/RHINO POGUES BOX SET, 2008

Post Mon Sep 24, 2007 12:00 pm

Still wrestling with the track listing, but we're getting there.

A number of you have been kind enough to help track down sources of some of the more troublesome tracks, and although that general SOS did not raise anything like the obscure rarities I hoped it would, it was nevertheless a useful exercise.

Naturally, I have managed to lose track of the name of everybody who helped in this respect, but would like to credit you all nevertheless. If you feel you helped with the box set (principally by sending me rare material on CDR etc) and feel you deserve a mention in the credits, please add your name to this list. Don't be shy. Credit where credit is due. It doesn't matter whether your contribution was used or not (in any event, that may never be known if a better source emerged later).

Kirk Danby
Yasunori Hoshino
David Lally
Christian Ahern
Lionel Grosheny
Øyvind Lade

Please just add your name to this list if possible, by using the EDIT facility. My PMs are a bit clogged at the moment with other business. Thanks

Thanks Philip, it'll be worth the wait.

St. Patricks day is on the 15th March next year. :? It coincides with Easter Monday i think and is a less important feast day.

Philip will the box set be readily available in the US or as an import? Regardless I can't wait till this is finally available.

Since It's Rhino as well, I would imagine that it will be readily available in the USA.

Oh my great mother of pleasure. And here I thought we were once again kidding around. Well..... this gives me reason for a party in March other than my birthday and that of my daughter. Spring looks greener already. :D
And in the spirit of this thread, thank you everyone, everyone.

Yes indeed, and there's not an artiste on the Rhino label who's not chuffed to bits to be on the same label as Wild Man Fischer. Only Doug Sahm's Mars Records (home of Roky Erikson's "Two Headed Dog") would be cooler.

Philip -- Will I be buying a lot of music I already have, or will I be buying songs that never made it onto a record, or will I be buying different versions of previously released material? Suspecting its all three, what's the ratio? 4/3/3? 7/1/2? 8/1/1?

Just curious. Thanks!
