Few stray extended mixes and the like did not make it to reissue formats. Who has the patience to sit down and listen to endless poorly labelled "Rainy Nights In Soho", "Irish Rovers" "Yeah Yeah Yeahs" and so on?

Actually I think I have an extended mix of the Irish Rover somewhere.

I've got that one somewhere too, now that you mention it.

I've been having fun lately no doubt treating a mild undiagnosed OCD complex making playlists with non-album tracks, etc, for my favourite bands. So i thought i'd put one together of The Pogues stuff that didn't make the remasters or box set. But i'm lazy, and pretty certain such a list exists here on the site somewhere, so was hoping one of the other OCDers on the site would remember where it was.

(I SWEAR i have a life... busy, jobs, kids...)

OCD and lazy? That's a mighty tough combo there.

For collectors of "NW3" trivia - I can now confirm we recorded a version during the Peace and Love sessions too, hitherto forgotten. No, I don;t know what it sounds like yet, but it beats the shit out of "Contact Yourself" I can tell already.

NW3 will go down through the ages and as such is a top 10 pogues song without doubt. Problem is it was never recorded properly (which also in its own way makes it even more special) and the other is it is perhaps rather a bit too depressing for mass consumption (perhaps too well written by its author so as to revert to the inferior popes version, none of which contains the heavy yet melodic numbered tabs and cold hard slabs) . Sunny side of the street had to be written to replace it. If what you say is true Phillip about the Peace and Love edition and it being forgotten until now, well then I guess that confirms the title track of the previous album being relevant to all members and not just the singer. From what I remember that great ape Nick Cave said as much on the Macgowan doco

Though I feel in the interests of fairness Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah, which Fearnly blasted in his book blasted away that consensus described above.

No problem. :)

I don't think these should be on the list (as they're not true Pogues tracks):

12. Tralee Trembles ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
13. Johnny ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
14. Child Of Ulster ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
15. Caoimhneadh Roisin-Tre, Ceathar, A Hocht ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
16. For The Children ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
17. Irish Ways ('L.I.L.T.' LP)
18. Callin' Me Home Again (Instumental - 'L.I.L.T. 12")
23. God Help Me (from Jesus & Mary Chain's 'Stoned & Dethroned' LP)

The list seems to be in a random order, chronological would be better.

Cheers
