I love the new cover art. Thanks for the update (and for the tracklisting, which I'm trying not to look at too carefully).

I thought it wasn't for sale in the US, and Play.com doesn't ship to the US. Meaning we have to wait for Amazon.co.uk to have it, and get them to ship it... :?

That's okay, Amazon.co.uk is reliable, and ships quickly. And I'm hoping the price will be lower than on Play.com, otherwise I may have to wait for it to be released here.

No, but I have it on good authority that Jem didn't even start writing songs until 1870.

Amazon.co.uk is very reliable, I usaully get my friend Gary to order stuff for me off this website, but I was able to get my hands on the Carol Clerk Pogues book, The Pogues live at London's Town and Country Club, Straight To Hell Returns, etc. So I don't see why I shouldn't be able to secure this box set at all. So far the track listing looks fantastic, however, Mr. Chevron where is the songs from the LILT album (Irish Ways, Johnny, For the Children, etc,) oh well, I guess they must not have made the final cut.

Good question, it would be interesting to see what was left out. :wink:
To say I can´t wait for the box is the understatement of the year :D

I guess we don't consider them "Pogues recordings" as much as other people seem to. Actually, our involvement is very small - a vocal here, an accordion overdub there.

I don't know when this box set will be readily available in the US, so you probably are going to have to bite the bullet and order it off amazon.co.uk (as before that is what I will be doing and they are reliable.) Yes, the cover is great, however, I would have preferred a picture of all the members of the band (Cait included.) But hey, that is just my two cents. :D

Oh Shit! It's only after reading through the track list (thanks Philip & DzM) that i realise how important this release is. It's incredible.

But how will you listen to it? Will you start at track 1 and not stop till track 111? Or go straight to the track that's most important to you? I think i'll go straight to "Kitty" then on to the tracks released by Shane and The Popes that The Pogues will do differently (Donegal Express etc). BUT WHERE TO THEN????

How can i listen through 109 tracks when i'm dying to hear "Medley" at Brixton? AAAARRRRRRHHHHHHH WHAT JOY!!!!!!

Now look what you made me do. I had only just got to the Travelling People when in the excitement I dropped my glass (empty, thank god) on the keyboard, millions of tiny splinters all over the desk and around. No, I wasn't singing. Now what if the children run barefoot to the computer tomorrow morning? I blame the Pogues. :?

Very much looking forward to the 111.

Amazon UK is now showing a ship date of May 26 :(
And a price of £ 39.99

Product details

* Audio CD (26 May 2008)
* Label: Warner
* ASIN: B001713CLA

EDIT: I guess Amazon realised it doesn't have to charge VAT or something on items sold to the US, my item price dropped to £34.03 when I signed in. Airmail to the US was £3.08, or Priority Express would have been £14.98 or nearly $75.00 US for airmail or nearly $97.00 for the Priority option.

Of course with the way the dollar is going i fully expect those numbers to be higher by the time this item ships.
