Best song on Red Roses For Me

In my opinion the best Pogues album.

Best songs Down in the Ground where the dead men go, boys from the county hell and the auld triangle...

What's your thoughts?

I have never been a big fan of Down In The Ground, which is vaguely ironic.

Dark Streets of London, I particularly like the fade out.

In my old bedroom at my mums house my stereo was in front of a false wall with waterpipes behind it and everytime I heard the fade out the effect was amazing, like they were playing at the end of a tunnel or something.

Oh and also another favourite is Transmetropolitan, and Streams of Whiskey, oh yes and Battle Of Brisbane.....

"Best" is of course entirely subjective, but both Transmetropolitan & Auld Triangle have a way of staying in my head for days after every time i listen to that album, so they must have somethin' special going on.

Transmetropolitan. That song is just epic.
And Streams of Whiskey, as it was probably my "first" fave Pogues song.

Red Roses For Me is a stand-out album which does not contain a single bad song, in my opinion. However, I guess my least favourite would be Down in the ground where the dead men go and, yes, Poor Paddy. Dunno why this song never clicked with me ...

Hard to pick just one, but i think it would have to be Transmetropolitan.

Many great songs on that, but my favourite would be 'Boys from the County Hell'

Of course, Red Roses for Me is a solid album all the way around, but if I had to pick a favorite (or favorites), I would narrow it down to Transmetropolitan, Boys from the County Hell, and Dark Streets of London.
