I've been trying to find information on the Anne Y. Petey choir, but have been unable to come up with anything. I've tried different spellings, still nothing. Is this a fictional band made up for the song?

Ok, try
this spelling - NYPD Choir.
And yes, it's fictional.

Fair play to you for working out what the guest meant. I was wracking my brains trying to think of what obscure track they were on about.

hahaha
There have been some great examples of mis-heard song lines over the years. One of my favourites is The Police cong "So Lonely", which sounds like "Sue Lawley" (due to Stng's poor attempt at a Jamaican accent), who was an English news reader at the time. I saw an interview with her where she said that someone told her that there was a song about her in the charts. She was so proud for a few days, until she found out the real title.

Very Doctor Who!
Actually I'm sure this is what my kids used to sing.
Though they'd probably kill me if I told anyone. Oops.

I misheard Shane´s first verse on "Sea Shanty": "Dear dirty London in the pouring rain" and transformed it into " ...in the poem rain".
I believe this would´ve been a fantastic line, too.

The first time I heard "White City" I thought Shane was singing "... all washed away like digiridoos in the rain."

"Mother of all our joys, mother of all our sorrows, won't you sleep with him tonight for all of our tomorrows"
What can I say? I still sing my version by accident sometimes...
