Ireland and the rest of the West is not a magical land of pixies & unicorns where money is free and nobody cares what things cost. No matter where you are in the world €500 is a big pile of money for a book.

ootlegging old 7"s for deception and profit is dumb. Bootlegging old 7"s because awesome music is no longer in print and needs to be heard is cool though.

Well I agree with you there but most of what I have seen is a blatant attempt to rip people off. Have you seen the Pistols A&M 7".. if it wasn't for the slight discolouration of the print, it would have been an exact copy..
There is a label called 1977 though which do stuff.. not too sure if it is legal or not but they put out old punk stuff on 7" which sometimes comes with a blank white paper label so it is obvious it isn't the "original".

oi agree its a boig poile of money everywhere for a book.. but me point was, people who are really really really keen to own the original could actually afford it woith Western wages; surely it means goiving up on other thoing they moight have planned to buy, but at least its a realistic option, thats all.. oim not sayin' 500e is pocketchange in the West

I earn "Western wages" (I suppose), and I can assure I can NOT afford to pay 500 Euros for a book. Not to mention the cost of the divorce shortly afterwards.
