Most overpriced Pogues item

Post Wed May 23, 2007 8:02 pm

I've just seen the White City CD single for sale online at $50! Bearing in mind the extra tracks are now available on Peace and Love, the only "new" thing on it for most people would be the very slightly different mix of the title track. Has anyone seen a more overpriced Pogues item on the net?

That's a ludicrous price. I'd hazard a guess it won't sell at that price.

Speaking of ridiculous prices, Ann Scanlon's The Lost Decade is currently advertised on amazon.uk for 150 quid as The Lose Decade!

I'll go into a bar and drink

I contacted the publisher about this 2 years ago. Their answer: Not likely to happen.

That's a ridiculous price for the Soit 12". eBay has truly ruined record collecting.

That wasn't on ebay.. but on Netsoundsmusic.com.. What I think has really ruined record collecting for me is the counterfieting of 7"s.. it is almost impossible to tell the original from a fake.. slight discolouration or a missing line somewhere in the run out groove is hard to detect. These bastards have it down to an art.

150 pounds for a copy of lost decade, and some of the prices for the lyrics book are ridiculous

Bootlegging old 7"s for deception and profit is dumb. Bootlegging old 7"s because awesome music is no longer in print and needs to be heard is cool though.

well, honestly oid loike to have Poguetry in me collection.. at thois point thats pretty much a fortune for me, consoidering the fact that 500 euros is nearly two months wages worth here in Serbia; oim not even ready to pay that much in order to get a good guitar; oif oi loived in OIreland or soimilar in terms oi could actually afford it woithout worries, it would surely be in me possesion by now
