I noticed that from time to time somebody says "i have ....." and i think there are many unusual things out there, gold discs, polished cards (as Mr Chevron said in another post recently), and many other rare things as limited editions.....so i Wonder which is the rarest thing that you have in your POGUES collection.

A CD-single signed by all 8 of them dedicated to my wife. I had it - until I gave it to my wife of course. Now she's the one owning the rarest thing I ever had.

And thanks once again to Phil for this!!

I've got a rarish Transatlantic sampler LP with two Sweeney's Men tracks on it, both with Terry on I think. Not directly a Pogues record but closely related.

Pogues-wise I suppose for me it would be the Spanish promo 7" of Fiesta but that's not particularly rare, I don't think. I'm still gradually building up the collection though.

I think whoever it was who bought that acetate off of Ebay last year can top the lot anyway...

Great question by the way Aitor, and being a vinyl junkie I look forward to reading everyone else's replies!

I have two E30 fuji video cassettes Island Stiff Films .
The first is of Dirty Old Town video. The second is of A Pair Of Brown Eyes .
I bought these in good faith as the seller claimed they were oringinal promo vids sent out buy Island Stiff records at the time of the single realeases.I have no idea if this claim was true or if I was a little foolish. I have never seen any for sale any where else .

On Christnas day 2001, Shane burnt a hole in the passenger seat of my car with a fag. He assured me that if I waited long enough, it would double the value of the car. The car has depreciated a bit since so I reckon he was right. If anyone wants a lefthand passenger seat for a toyota starlet they can have it for €1500or they can have the whole/hole car for €3000..

hard to say because of the sentimental value --

the Red Roses for Me pub mirror...

the never-ever-seen-on-eBay RS&TL shirt mailed to me from Scotland by the girl I met at the Brazen Head before a show in 2005, with her note saying Shane had given it to her...

the shirt from Philip...

the A Pair of Brown Eyes picture disc is probably the most beautiful piece of vinyl ever pressed.

btw, Noel, I think you win!

I have a gig of Joe Strummer with Pogues, I thought all were tragic, until I found this - it´s one of the best quality boots I´ve ever heard.

The rarest vinyl that I have by the Pogues, this is probably almost pathetic, but hey, here in the Commonwealth of Virginia, most people don't even know who the Pogues are; I have Rum, Sodomy and the Lash, on original vinyl, not the Rhino reissued (I have If I Should Fall From Grace With God on that format,) but the original one that was released in 1985. That is probaby about it, with the possible exception being the rare B-sides and singles compilations I have, plus the Pogues live in Japan in 1988 CD and also such songs as A Pair of Brown Eyes, The Sickbed of Cuchulainn, and Maggie May live. I'm still trying to get my hands on the Sink The Bottle bootleg. But hey, the box set is just around the corner.

My most rare vinyl is probably my Waxie's Dargle/Dark Streets 7". Most rare cassette is probably my Wild Rover cassingle.

Not sure about CD...maybe the LILT Cd.

...Among others, I have a double sided 7'' Promo of Thousands are Sailing with Fairytale (Canadian Press) that I found while parousing through a record shop in Avignon, France...

Stranger things have turned up while hunting down records I suppose, but that's what makes it interesting now isint it?!

I have a Swedish promo cassett from the label SONET called Autumn News 1. It´s got mixed artists and it includes Dirty Old Town (and also Downtown Train with Tom Waits) Probably not the most expensive item but definately very very rare.
