Pogues songs in Films

Post Fri Apr 06, 2007 3:10 pm

Pogues songs have been featured in many movies over the years and I thought it would be nice to compile a list. Here are some that I can think of. please add to the list.

Sid and Nancy - Haunted, Junk Theme, Hot Dogs with Everything
Straight to Hell - (Lots)
Blown Away - Tuesday Morning
The Devil's Own??
Grosse Pointe Blank - Lorca's Novena
Mystery, Alaska - Love You to The End
My Own Private Idaho - The Old Main Drag
Ladder 49 - If I should Fall From Grace with God
Two If By Sea - Haunted (Shane and Sinead O'Connor, not the Pogues)

I never actually saw that movie all the way through. I worked in a movie theatre when it was out and I used to run to the door to prop it open as quickly as possible so I could listen to the Old Main Drag.

I think 'Wildcats..." was the theme for the kids' tv series "Gilbert's Fridge". Great stuff.

There was also A Man You Don't Meet Everyday -- not sure it was a made-for-TV short drama, or a short film. Whichever, it had the song in. :)

White City is in State of Grace, I believe.

Perfect header for a question i've been wanting to ask... anyone ever have the soundtrack to the film THE COURIER? And notice how one of the bands listed is THE POGUES, yet there is no pogues song anywhere on the record? Whats the story with that?

Also...
Georgia - House of the gods

I'm crap on films, as I never go to the cinema, but i know I saw one (might have been a Neil Jordan one) which had a scene with Terry Woods and Ron Kavana playing in a pub.
