Brilliant news. I've never heard the Pogues version of Hot Asphalt either, will be looking forward to this.

So, this box set will probably be out before Christmas, then?

Philip, no In and Out, but I love that song. I have it anyway. How about the Do You Believe In Magic, the Shane and Cait duet, or other songs that you guys collaborated on with Kristy MacColl (The One and Only), or even Jem Finer's rare songs (Who Said Romance In Dead? and The Sound of City Night.) Box Sets can be a trying experience, especially when deciding which tracks should make the official cut. I have The Sex Pistols box set, which includes the entire Never Mind the Bollocks album, plus B-Sides, early demos, live recordings, including the infamous Belsen Was A Gas at the Longhorn Ballroom. Anyway, I will be throwing my wallet at this treasure chest regardless. Tracks I don't have but hopefully they will make the final cut.

1. Glued Up and Speeding (Sid and Nancy Soundtrack)
2. The Falconer Demos (pre- Hell's Ditch)
3. The Balinaee
4. Young Ned of the Hill (dub version)
4. London Calling and I Fought the Law (live) (Joe Strummer and The Pogues)
5. early demos of (Streams of Whiskey, Greenland Whale Fisheries, The Boys From the County Hell, etc)
6. early live recordings (Self Aid Benefit, Dublin 1986, plus others)
7. Fisherman and Hot Asphalt (Waiting For Herb demos)

That's my list, hopefully these tracks get compiled on there. Anyway, Mr. Chevron, hopefully see you at the show in Philadelphia on March 16, as well as some of my fellow Medusans.

I think you misunderstood. "In And Out" is certainly in contention, as are "Do You Believe In Magic?" and the Pogue Mahone outtakes. Can Of Worms is right.

My mistake, Mr. Chevron

"In and Out" is classic Pogues in my opinion, did we ever find out who wrote the track.

Mr. Chevron, if I can refer you to "Boots and Unreleased," portion of the website, I have two rather rare Pogues B-Sides and Singles CDs, and I have listed the track listings for both. Let me know if some of these songs would help you out when compiling your track listing. I also have rare live recording including the Far From Home show, Japan, 1988, as well as Maggie May, A Pair of Brown Eyes, and The Sickbed of Cuchulainn live as well.

I've listed the track listings for both albums under the section entitled "The Best Place For Downloading Rare Pogues Tracks,"

Don't know if this is just my own personal taste, but I love to hear
other vocalists covering songs. I have heard a lousy version
of Young Ned where Shane sings lead-it would be cool to have a good version of this or Mr. Chevron's version-I believe it exists.

A few songs I've heard kicking around-
Straight to Hell
Brand New Cadillac
Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue(Cait) (besides Crystal Gayle needs a new
tourbus, hers was stolen the other night)
Turkish Song of the Dammed (Strummer Lead)
All Night Long-Pogues, Los Lobos & Stevie Ray Vaughan

Don't Include-
Maggie May
Town & Country songs already out there (Rudi, London Calling, I fought the Law)

just my two cents.. :)

I understand there was a different recording of "Dark Streets of London" done before Red Roses for Me. Is this actually different and if so will it be there?

I also have Shane's vocal version of Young Ned but it's a bloody awful quality audience recording (I presume). I've also got "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" - I suspect lots of people on here have, as it's on the "Live At The 100 Club" boot. It sounds, erm, "unrehearsed", shall we say???

I don't really care what goes on the boxset as I am 100% certain it will be absolutely sparkling whatever the tracklisting is. Great thread this though. What's the betting it sets a record for the longest thread ever??? (Outside of the Speakers Corner/Miscellaneous areas).
